Michael Alberts, President of the Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation, announced that the Plainfield Police Department was awarded a grant of $1,873, in honor of Jewett City Savings Bank’s 150th anniversary.
As part of the ongoing celebrations, the Bank is hosting events on or near the founding date of each branch office. The donation, which was presented at the Bank’s Plainfield branch, was earmarked to help fund a new sign to replace the current sign that was damaged in a recent accident. The Department plans to purchase a new digital sign to display town events and important information to town residents.
“Every day, the Plainfield Police Department works hard to protect our neighbors, our homes, our businesses and to ensure that the community is safe. We are proud to support the department and their efforts to improve the availability of public service messages to the community,” said Alberts.
