The Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation announced the granting of $1,873 to the Quinebaug Valley Senior Citizens Center during the Bank’s Brooklyn office anniversary celebration. The grant will help fund programs at the Senior Center.
The Quinebaug Valley Senior Citizens Center was first established as a counseling and coordinating agency, providing services for low-income, elderly, and handicapped residents over 55, living within the 11-town area of Northeastern Connecticut. Today the Center also serves as a meal site, offers monthly lunches and motor trips, and hosts activity groups and programs geared toward elderly residents.
“The Quinebaug Valley Senior Citizens Center allows our neighbors to access the resources and tools they need to thrive and stay active. To help support such an important resource in our community is an honor,” said Michael Alberts, President and CEO of Jewett City Savings Bank.
