We have been made aware of an unsolicited phone call scam using Jewett City Savings Bank’s main telephone number. In reported cases, phone calls appearing to be from Jewett City Savings Bank, with 860-376-4444 showing up in the caller ID, were received and the fraudster asked the person to provide account number and debit card information.
As a reminder, Jewett City Savings Bank will never call to confirm your account number, debit card number, personal identification number (PIN) or online banking password. If you receive a call claiming to be from Jewett City Savings Bank and they ask for this information, hang up and call the bank immediately at 860-376-4444.
In some cases, Jewett City Savings Bank may call you to confirm that a card transaction is legitimate or inform you of fraud on your debit card. In these cases, we will ask to verify your identity with your security questions or other personally identifiable information, but we will never ask for your account number, debit card number, PIN or online banking password.
